EmpowerKids-South Sudan empowers communities through education, sustainable agriculture, youth development, and civic engagement.

EmpowerKids-South Sudan is a national nonprofit organization registered with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission under Chapter 3, Section 10 of the NGO Act, 2016, with registration number 169, dedicated to empowering communities by expanding education access, improving agricultural productivity, inspiring youth leadership, and strengthening civic engagement.

Our Four Pillars
Education Support
Our Conservation Agriculture program trains farmers in the Foundations for Farming model to increase yields, restore soil health, and build climate resilience. Through demonstration farms, farmer field schools, and national adoption efforts, EFSS provides practical skills that help families grow more food and improve their livelihoods. We turn small plots into big opportunities for community transformation.
We equip young people with leadership, life skills, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship training to help them unlock their potential. Our youth programs inspire confidence, nurture talent, and provide pathways for meaningful participation in South Sudan’s development. Empowered youth become champions of change in their communities.
We promote active citizenship by empowering communities with knowledge, platforms, and tools to engage in governance and public decision-making. Through civic education, community dialogues, and policy advocacy, we strengthen transparency, accountability, and community voice. When communities are informed and engaged, positive change becomes possible.
We strengthen access to quality education by supporting learners, empowering teachers, and improving school environments. Our work focuses on student sponsorships, school partnerships, teacher training, and learning resources that help children thrive. Together, we are building a brighter future for the next generation in South Sudan.

Success Stories
A snapshots of how our programs are directly benefiting South Sudanese communities.
"The Foundations for Farming model revolutionized my harvest. I produced significantly more maize grain this year than in previous seasons when I relied on traditional farming methods. This training has directly secured my family’s food supply."
Mama Mary, Smallholder Farmer.
"My internship with Empower Farmers South Sudan was a life-changing experience. I acquired invaluable, low-cost conservation farming techniques and practical skills that significantly enhance traditional methods and were not covered in my university agricultural studies."
Amos Juma, EFSS Intern (2025)
"Attending the Constitutional Making Process workshop changed everything. I realized my generation's input is essential, and I have a role to play in our nation's future. I've gained the confidence and tools to be an active civic leader, my voice matters now."
Alfred, St. John Paul Secondary School , Wau.
Ms. Awel Martin, SolarSPELL Facilitator
"The lockdown closed schools, but not learning. As a SolarSPELL Facilitator, I brought the digital library directly to the community, going home-to-home to ensure parents could download resources. Seeing children continue their studies through the crisis was powerful proof: we ensured education didn't stop."
