Advocacy & Civic Engagement Program

Building informed, active citizens who participate in shaping policies, peace, and development.

The Advocacy & Civic Engagement Program empowers communities, especially young people and women, to actively participate in shaping South Sudan’s future. Through civic education, leadership development, policy dialogue, and community-driven advocacy, the program strengthens democratic values and promotes peaceful, informed engagement at all levels of society. By building awareness, amplifying citizen voices, and fostering collaboration between communities and decision-makers, we work to create a more inclusive, accountable, and participatory society for all.

Program Mission:

Key Focus Areas:

To enhance community voice, strengthen democratic participation, and empower citizens, especially young people and women, to engage constructively in governance and peacebuilding.

Community Civic Education

Promoting awareness of citizens’ rights and responsibilities through education on elections, governance processes, and constitutional literacy. This helps communities make informed decisions and participate meaningfully in public affairs.

Youth Leadership for Democratic Participation

Equipping young people with the knowledge, leadership skills, and confidence to engage constructively in governance, democratic processes, and community decision-making. This prepares youth to become active, responsible citizens and future leaders.

Policy Advocacy & Dialogue Platforms

Creating spaces where community members, youth, civil society, and policymakers can discuss issues, influence decisions, and co-create solutions. These platforms strengthen accountability and ensure citizen voices are included in governance processes.
